How is United Way of Northern Arizona held accountable?
We are effective, efficient, and wise stewards of each donor’s investment.
Although the United Way name is recognized nationally, UWNA is locally governed and functions independently.
Our board of directors consists of Northern Arizona residents who ensure that we meet the highest fiduciary standards. Most importantly, they are committed to meeting the needs of our community.
UWNA prides itself on being a trustworthy and accountable organization. A volunteer committee of financial experts meets year-round, monitoring our financial position. We are also reviewed each year by an independent auditor, who verifies that our financial statements present our financial position fairly.
Our administration costs are 17.7 percent — well below the standards set by the Better Business Bureau’s Wise Giving Alliance.
UWNA sets and maintains high standards — not just for ourselves, but also for our collaborators. Contributions of time, effort, and money made to us are held in trust and invested in building our community in a manner prescribed.
