United Way
of Northern Arizona

Volunteer

At the heart of United Way’s community support efforts are our dedicated volunteers.  Their tireless service and commitment strengthen and serve our community each year.

This devoted group of trained individuals tour agencies, monitor programs for effectiveness and ensure efficiency.  They bring hope, caring and respect to people who need it most.

Last year, 50 results-driven programs were funded by United Way contributions.  People of all ages, ethnicities and economic backgrounds were positively impacted.  Children were educated, people empowered, and vital services delivered.

After all, the true value of United Way of Northern Arizona rests in its ability to bring people together to provide solutions to our community’s most critical human care needs.

This could not be done without our compassionate volunteers.

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.”
~ Margaret Mead

WHY DO YOU VOLUNTEER FOR UNITED WAY OF NORTHERN ARIZONA?

“I volunteer because United Way agencies have helped my family out in the past and I’d like to repay in whatever small way I can.” ~ Scott Kemp, UWNA Board Treasurer - W.L. Gore & Associates

“By volunteering, I learn about the programs and resources that United Way has. I like to pass that information along to help others.” ~ Theresa Thomas, UWNA volunteer - Coconino County

“ I know that I'm making a difference in peoples’ lives and in my community by volunteering and through my financial contribution to United Way of Northern Arizona. I never have to worry about my time being wasted or my money not getting to the people or programs that matter." ~ Kimberly Ott, UWNA Board Vice-Chair - City of Flagstaff

“Every minute that I spend volunteering at United Way is a blessing. It’s not every day that you get to spend time with people who care about and invest in the community as much as these amazing people do.” ~ Rachael Falls, UWNA volunteer - Coconino High School student
